JEAN LUC PONTY - SALA PALATULUI - 11 martie 2010

Phoenix Cultural Foundation presents:

JEAN LUC PONTY & HIS BAND for the first time in Bucharest

Sala Palatului – 11 martie 2010

From a family of French musicians (his father played the violin, his mother played the piano), Jean Luc Ponty studied music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and after graduation he played for three years in the prestigious Concerts Lamoureux Orchestra. When he had to take a decision on his career, the artist chose to express that attraction for jazz through his violin. At first, this choice has been a barrier because at that time very few saw the violin as part of the vocabulary of modern jazz. At the age of 21 years appeared the first album of the musician-composer – “Jazz Long Playing "- critics appreciating him as the first violinist of jazz that can carry the same feelings as a saxophonist.

During his career he played with artists such as: Frank Sinatra, Elton John, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and he played in concert through the entire World (South America,USA, Canada, India,France, Germany, Austria,Hungary, Lithuania, Russia, Italy etc.)

After more than 15 albums and one DVD - In concert (2004), in late 2008, Jean-Luc and his band became a quartet with percussion and the artist has decided to return to their sound from 70-80 years in a modern version.

For the third time in Romania, after Timisoara and Stufstock, but the first time in Bucharest, Jean Luc Ponty will perform on March 11, 2010 at the Palace Hall accompanied by William Lecomte (keyboards), Guy Nsangue Akwa (bass) and Damien Schmitt (drums).

Tickets cost between 100 Ron and 400 Ron and can be found online at www.eventim.ro, www.bilete.ro, www.blt.ro  and in the stores  Muzica, Vodafone, Germanos and at Sala Palatului.

After a month since the release of the album “Culeg vise”/”Believe”, Paula Seling has received a new video as a gift.

After a month since the release of the album “Culeg vise” (with the English version called “ Believe”) and a month since she was presenting the first video from the album (at the song “Ochii tai”), Paula Seling brings into your attention a new video. This is the second single –“Believe” – from the album with the same name.

The song has an interesting genesis,as Paula herself tells us:

“ “Believe”  was initially composed for a commercial.  After its release, many people started asking where can they find this song and mostly, who is the singer behind it. It was a pleasure for me to find out that even without the “advantages” of the name, my songs have impact on people and I was amused of the others reactions, when finding out the name of the composer and the singer, they  couldn’t believe it.”

And, as spontaneity is a characteristic of the “Bucura – Seling” couple, the video appeared spontaneously, out of a nice experience:  recently,Paula and her husband, Radu, were in a short vacation in a village in Greece -a small paradise, as you will see in the images of the clip. According to a nice habit, Radu has been filming and taking pictures most of the time, enthusiastic of how Paula fits into the scene. Once returned home, Radu started working and, after a short time, he managed  to complete editing the video. Just in time to make Paula maybe the best present ever, atthe 4th anniversary of their marriage, in which they reaped dreams and they believed together in what they do – “Culeg vise” and “Believe”  - a double testimony to the world.

The new video will be released on the internet. The premier will take place Friday, on 10th July at www.paulaseling.ro.
