Ioan Gyuri Pascu first appeared as an artist in 1982 and from 1987 until 2002 was a member of Divertis group. In 1993, the song “ Tara arde si babele se piaptana” was granted the song of the year by EVZ. In the same year Radio Contact was awarding him the price “ Composer of the year”. The artist released 11 albums, the most recent one - “ La jumatatea vietii” - appeared in 2007. Coincidence or not, the most recent album Suzanne Vega – “Beauty&crime” – appeared also in 2007. The connection between the two artists will be done at Sala Palatului, on 16th July , where, starting with 8 p.m. Ioan Gyuri Pascu will perform in the opening of Suzanne Vega’s first concert in Romania. Suzanne Vega will play in Romania in a trio formula along with Gerry Leonard at electric and acoustic guitar and Mike Visceglia at bass guitar. Widely regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang what has been labeled contemporary folk or neo-folk songs.
“Luka” is a song that has entered the cultural vernacular; certainly the only hit song ever written from the perspective of an abused boy, and “Tom’s diner” remains one of the most played songs ever. Also, the restaurant where the characters from Seinfeld used to met is the same one where “Tom’s diner” was filmed. PAULA SELING releases a new album - "CULEG VISE" - 10th June - 9 p.m. - SILVER CHURCH
After almoust 5 years of work in the studio, Paula releases the album called "Culeg vise" , on 10th June in Silver Church, containing 17 tracks. This was recorded and mixed at the Unicorn Studio Records. The master of the album was made at Silver Sound Studios ( Germany). This is the first album completely made by Paula: text, composition, orchestration, production. The album has a twin version in English - "Believe".
The first song on the album to get a video is called "Ochii tai/In your eyes". This was filmed entirely with a photo camera Canon 5D Mark II.

Paula Seling released her new video today , for the song called "Ochii tai" ,during the morning tv show "Neata cu Razvan si Dani".
The filming took place next to a quarry. Half a day it took them to find this special place.
"It wasn't a very nice thing for my heels, but sacrifices are need when you want something good to come out of it".
The red piano from "Ochii tai" video was "discovered" half year ago in a hall in Brasov and ever since Paula knew that she had to use it in a video. "The images with the red piano are my favourite" , said Paula.
Soon Paula will release two albums, one with songs in Romanian, "Culeg vise" and the second one with songs in English, " Believe".
"Culeg vise" was recorded and mixed in Unicorn Records studio. The master of the album was made at Silver Sound studio. This is the first album completely made by Paula: text, composition, orchestration, production.
"Five years ago someone discovered me playing LatinoAmerica in a basement in Bucharest. Time is passing and I realize that LatinoAmerica is the music that I know best, that I feel the most. I want to give this music to everybody that comes with their heart open to receive it", says Analia.
LatinoAmerica project proposes a different kind of music to the one that you could hear until now in Romania. The original latin spirit, present in Analia's voice, in Gilberto Ortega at percussions, was generosly transmitted to Gabi Brodisteanu at guitar, to Catalin Dalvarea at drums, to Costin Bodea at keyboards, to Laura Gherescu backing vocals and to Ionut Serban at bass guitar. The result is a mix of modernism and traditionalism. And just because it is "cool" to have this mix nowdays, the project can easily enter the present, succesfully joining other similar project, even if it proposes harmonies from time and spaces that we found to be exotic.
Soulfly back in Bucharest!
Soulfly, whose leader is Max Knight (ex-Sepultura), will play in Romania. The show will take place on March 16 2009, at Sala Polivalenta. Soulfly is a heavy metal band, which was founded in 1997, in Arizona. The founder of the band (which is also the composer and the only constant member of the group) is Max Knight. He founded Soulfly in 1996 after he left Sepultura. Until now, the group led by Max Knight has released six studio albums, the most recent being Conquer (29 July 2008). In 1976 French composer and electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre won world fame with an album that has seduced both music fans and critics everywhere. "Oxygene" was not only a masterpiece but the album cover draws attention to global environmental problems, long before the environment became a mainstream issue. "Oxygene" is a reference point in electronic music, being recorded with rare instruments, many of them can now be purchased only in special stores for second hand. Jarre's approach was innovating, paving the way for current generations of musicians electro. Jarre, who usually performs spectacular concert outdoors in front of millions of people in historic locations around the world, has chosen to interpret the score complete album "Oxygene" in more intimate venues.
